This group covers the bars, diners, family restaurants, fast-food spots and other kitchens that serve pizza alongside a broader menu. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Sports bars fill up on game nights and often run pizza-and-pitcher specials; diners and fast-food chains keep long hours, sometimes around the clock. Sales tax is added at the register on top of menu prices.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 amβ10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (267) 928-2085. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is kanellarestaurant.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Customers rate it 4.6 out of 5 on Google across 982 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded mediterranean & greek in Philadelphia.
Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Philadelphia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Great food. Quick service. Only comment is team could just be a bit more organized - but their only fault was asking if we wanted to order anything by 2 different servers within 5 minutes. But the attentiveness was there. So kudos!

I love this neighborhood gem serving Cypriot food! Always fresh, tasty, and delicious π the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The lamb kebab never fails and the hummus is one of the best! Try their watermelon salad, super refreshing especially in the summer! Not to mention they have one of the best outdoor patio in town! Highly recommend

A neighborhood gem! BYOB. Itβs definitely not fancy but itβs super cute, the food is really good, well priced, and the servers have such great energy! You can tell all of the workers are really passionate about the restaurant!

Kanella is a fantastic find! Itβs a cute, quiet spot that has a great energy once it picks up. The "small plates" actually come in very satisfying portions. The Food: β’ Shepherdβs Salad: Refreshing and fresh. β’ Seared Halloumi: A must-order! Eat it while itβs warm to enjoy how the flavors melt together. β’ Adana Kebab: Tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. β’ Baklava: A classic, delicious finish. The service was excellent even as they got busy. Slavjanka took great care of us, and the rest of the team was quick to assist. Highly recommend!

Great Atmosphere and not to loud. For apps we got the halloumi and brussels sprouts and for mains we got grilled Seabass and the beef kebabs. The seabass was very fresh and the beef was tender and full of flavor. Everything was great and I would say the portion sizes leave you full but arenβt overwhelming.

Wonderful food and service. Be aware, grab a bottle of wine before you arrive! They will open it, but they donβt have any on the premises. The Halloumi was slightly breaded and amazing. Trade menu find.

We tried the tasting menu and overall it was a really nice experience. For appetizers, the Muhammara was excellentβrich, flavorful, and definitely a highlight. The cheese rolls were okay, nothing special, and the kibbeh was a bit underwhelming. The seared halloumi, however, stood outβit was very flavorful, and the addition of apricot and dates was a really nice, well-balanced flavor. For mains, we got the ribeye cap (served as beef cubes with pilav rixe), which was really goodβwell-cooked and flavorful. We also tried the levrek (fish), which was just okay in comparison and didnβt stand out much. For dessert, the kunafeh was really good and a great way to end the meal. The baklava, on the other hand, was disappointing, honestly one to stay away from. Overall, a solid tasting menu with some standout dishes, especially on the appetizer and dessert side.

Kanella Grill is hands down one of the best Greek restaurants Iβve tried in Philly. I canβt lie everything was amazing. The menu has a beautiful mix of Greek with Turkish and Mediterranean influences, and you can taste the quality in every dish. From the appetizers to the main courses, everything was flavorful, well-prepared, and satisfying. If itβs your first time trying Greek food, this place will not disappoint at all. I would 100% recommend it.
